Home Depot Faces Complaint on Vendor Charges

A former Home Depot employee in Pell City, Alabama, has filed a complaint saying that he was fired after he refused to file false damage reports to a vendor, the New York Post reported.

Roger Fredrickson, 65, headed the store's indoor garden department from April 19 through June 20, the Post said. He is the third former Home Depot employee to file a complaint against the home-improvement retailer over return-to-vendor charges, the Post reported.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is conducting an informal review of the matter, the newspaper said.

Home Depot said the Alabama employee was fired in June for violating the company's code of conduct and it hadn't received the complaint, the Post said. Spokeswoman Caroline Counihan didn't immediately return a voice-mail message from Bloomberg News seeking comment before normal business hours.
